Not all real estate is
equal. When it comes to selling and buying a cottage or rural home in the Muskoka or Parry
Sound region it's best to work with a realtor who can share your experience. Over the
years I have been on both sides of the table having personally bought and sold several
homes and cottages in the region.In each case,there
has always been unique challenges giving me since 2004 the insight and knowledge
that have attributed to my skills as a realtor. Whether my clients are
buying or selling vacant land, new or old construction, a lakeside retreat or a rural
home, I can truly say "been there, done that".
I know what it is like to
deal with local municipalities, building departments, Ministry of Natural Environment
and Health Departments; issues that one doesn't necessarily have to deal with
when buying and selling urban real estate.
I know about and
have experienced the value of good neighbours, accessible shorelines, variables that make
a property rentable and income producing, the joys of owning a septic tank or drawing
water from the lake. Things you don't learn in books, only by doing it..
I have
been fortunate enough to develop my skills and insight into cottage real estate
through the research and producing of Cottage Life Television, my own internationally
distributed series The Weekend Guy, the writing of my book The Weekend Guy: A Survival
guide, appearances on Global Morning, CBC's Here and Now, The Dini Petty Show, Breakfast
Television and CH Noon. In addition, I have written for the National Post, Muskoka
