Welcome to the Muskoka Theatre Project.

We are Muskoka's oldest professional theatre company and since our inaugural season in 2002 we have been experiencing overwhelming success with our original productions. All have them have received critical acclaim from both media and audiences. In addition, every one of our scripts are now being requested by other companies.

When Ontario Tourism went lookiong for three icons that said Muskoka, the Muskoka Theatre Project was chosen as one. The other two were an established resort and the steamship Segwun.

In 2004  Muskoka Theatre Project  earned the sponsorship  of  Red Leaves on Lake Rosseau, soon to be Muskoka’s premier destination resort.  www.redleavesmuskoka.com . This  begun a relationship that will see The Muskoka Theatre Project's home base at the future  Red Leaves Muskoka Playhouse in the resort at the Village of Minett.

In 2006, Grittani’s one-woman play “Quiet! I’m Talking” a co-production with Theatre Aquarius, (originally produced by The Muskoka Theatre Project in 2002) was voted “best production” over Stratford and Shaw Festivals, by the Halton Arts Review. Also in 2006, Grittani’s and composing partner Rosalind Mills’ highly successful musical “Wake Me When It’s Over!”, (originally produced by MTP in 2004) won the Brampton Flower City Festival new play competition.

In 2007, the region's newspaper The Muskokan proclaimed that "attending The Muskoka Theatre Project is fast becoming as much of a tradition as opening up the cottage and jumping off the dock ."

In the meantime, we perform  in our new temporary summer home, Red Leaves Playhouse Tent Theatre located on the site of our future home base.
